Kids bury the past

31.12.26: A TIME CAPSULE of the most handy gadgets inside a carbon composite shell was buried today under the Greenwich Dome by FutureWorld, the children's television show.

The capsule will give future generations an idea of what drives our world. Its contents are:

  • this year's top-selling chart hit inside the latest mini-chip player
  • self-cleaning microfibre clothes that allow sweat and dust to be shaken off each day
  • a digital smart watch that stores credit
  • Nike's intelligent training shoes, with an air cushion that moves to provide user protection
  • the Sony I, the voice-activated service that projects data onto a contact lens: a map if you are lost or a name when you can't place a face
  • a roll-up television screen made of organic compounds that can be altered to the most appropriate size as useful in confined spaces as it is for mounting big displays. SC
